Mother’s Keep

My granny, a war bride from England, inspired Mother’s Keep. She settled on ten acres of land with her new husband in Gibsons Landing, Canada. Those Depression Years were hard for all, but they had a vegetable garden, chickens, and a cow, so they made ends meet... a wonderful story of magic, tragedy, and redemption.

The dead have great power. We can walk through walls, read minds, and converse with other dead, yet the few things we cannot do are important because of what we crave: to talk to those we may never see again. Our eyes are from afar, like a gazelle on the horizon. We pass through living time, for our time is memory . . .

Meet The Author

Frank is an accomplished author, poet, and educator who transitioned from a career in the paper mill industry to earning a Bachelor of Arts in English from Thompson Rivers University.

His debut novel, The Cumberland Tales, draws on his childhood memories of Sam Yik, a gardener and mystic.
